Job Description

Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

The role

Our English Department is known for its intellectual rigour, its collaborative culture, and its genuine commitment to inspiring a love of language and literature in every student. In this role you will teach across Stages 5 to 6, including our senior English courses (Standard, Advanced and Extension), and you will play a meaningful part in developing the critical thinking, creativity, and voice of our students.

We recognise that outstanding teachers are often committed to their current schools and students. As such, we are flexible regarding the commencement date and welcome applications from experienced educators who may be available to join us at the beginning of 2027.

You will display the following skills and attributes:

  • Hold a current NESA accreditation and have an excellent understanding of the NESA syllabus 
  • A willingness and ability to teach English across the various Stages 
  • Experience teaching Stage 5 and 6 including Advanced and Extension courses
  • Be a positive and collaborative contributor to a successful department committed to improving educational outcomes
  • Be confident in differentiating the curriculum in the classroom
  • Have a strong understanding of the application of technology to enhance learning
  • Be a reflective professional engaged in ongoing development and research in relation to your practice
