Job Description

Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

The role

In anticipation of the opening of our early Years School we are seeking an experienced Administration Assistant with a genuine affinity for children to join our Early Years School and work closely with the Administration Co-ordinator to support the smooth day-to-day running of our Centre. This role will help create a warm and welcoming first point of contact for families, while positively contributing to a culture of safety, inclusion and care.
 
The successful candidate will provide administrative support to families and the Early Years team across a range of functions including enrolments, orientation processes, monitoring sessions of care, maintaining authorisations and medical information, and ordering and checking resources, along with other general administrative tasks. Pymble Ladies' College Early Years School is committed to child safety, a child safe environment and a culture of putting children first to keep them safe from harm. 
 
Working three days per week, this opportunity offers excellent work-life balance while being part of a cohesive and supportive team of Early Childhood professionals. The required Certificate III or Diploma qualification will also enable the successful candidate to assist in rooms as part of staffing ratios from time to time, with the opportunity to pick up additional casual shifts on non-working days if desired.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

  • Willingness to support and promote the ethos and values of the College.
  • Exhibit enjoyment when engaging with young children, and a belief in their capabilities as curious learners and effective communicators.
  • A Certificate III in Early Education and Care, or willingness to obtain.
  • Prior experience with Child Care Management Systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation of materials, both hard copy and electronic.
  • Preparedness to support operational functions and requirements of a long day care service.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications with an emphasis on Word and Excel.
  • Willingness and ability to adopt a flexible approach to work tasks and to manage changing priorities.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills that enable the development of positive relationships based on respect and trust with children, families, staff and the local community.
  • Commitment to demonstrating values and behaviours that prioritise children’s safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children.
  • Possess a working knowledge of NSW Child Safe Standards with a commitment to upholding the Child Safe Code of Conduct.
  • Thorough understanding of mandatory reporting obligations under NSW Law.
  • Ability to recognise and respond to indicators of child abuse.
