The role
Vision Valley is Pymble Ladies' College’s dedicated Outdoor Education campus and second campus, set on 125 acres at Arcadia on the fringe of Berowra Valley National Park and the Hawkesbury River wilderness. Located approximately one hour from the centre of Sydney, Vision Valley provides immersive, experiential and adventure-based learning experiences that foster courage, resilience, independence and belonging in students.
Vision Valley delivers three connected program streams: the College’s flagship Year 9 Residential Program, Pymble’s K–12 Outdoor Education Continuum and an external outdoor education program supporting visiting schools, community groups and organisations. The campus accommodates up to 174 guests and plays a central role in bringing the College’s strategic vision for outdoor and experiential education to life.
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring leader to join the College as Head of Campus – Vision Valley. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the campus across all program streams, together with the leadership and management of the Vision Valley team. The role will continue to grow and refine the College’s renowned Year 9 Residential Program while ensuring alignment with the Australian Adventure Activity Standards and the requirements of Outdoors NSW & ACT.
Working closely with the Head of Outdoor Education and the Deputy Head of Campus, the Head of Campus – Vision Valley will ensure the campus operates as an integrated part of the College’s K–12 Outdoor Education Continuum and continues to deliver exceptional experiences that support student growth, wellbeing and connection.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership and relationship management skills, with the ability to build a positive, collaborative, and high-performing campus culture. They will demonstrate sound operational and risk management capability, including a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, outdoor education standards and child safe practices. Experience managing large-scale programs, residential operations and multi-disciplinary teams will be highly regarded.
Highly organised, adaptable and strategic in their approach, the successful candidate will be able to balance operational excellence with innovation and continuous improvement. They will work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders across the College and wider community and will be committed to advancing Vision Valley’s reputation as a leading outdoor education destination and the flagship home of the College’s Year 9 Residential Program.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and values-driven leader with a strong background in outdoor education, residential or experiential learning environments, or an experienced teacher with a genuine interest in and passion for outdoor education. Central to the role is the demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams within complex operational settings, while fostering a strong culture of student wellbeing, safety and belonging.

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:
- Willingness to support and promote the ethos and values of the College
- Certifications relevant to outdoor education, teaching, leadership or adventure-based activities and/or
- Tertiary qualifications in Education, Outdoor Education, Leadership, Recreation, Sport, Experiential Learning or a related discipline
- Demonstrated leadership experience within outdoor education, experiential learning, residential education, camps, schools or similar environments highly desirable
- Experience and exposure to broad program facilitation and development from a K-12 perspective
- The ability to identify, support and lead improvement of an evolving program
- Experience leading and managing diverse teams across education, operations and student wellbeing functions
- Strong understanding of risk management, compliance and child safeguarding requirements within outdoor or residential settings
- Proven ability to support the delivery of engaging experiential learning programs that support student growth, resilience and belonging
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
- Experience managing operational logistics, budgets and revenue targets, facilities, and/or residential campuses
- Well-developed communication, time management, and organisational skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead calmly in dynamic environments
- Effective relationship management skills with external service providers, parents, local residents and other stakeholders
- Current First Aid, CPR and relevant outdoor activity certifications
- Preparedness to be involved in field-based activities
- LR or MR driver’s licence, or willingness to obtain this licence
- Wilderness First Aid Certificate desirable
- Knowledge of the Australian Adventure Activity Standards and relevant outdoor education frameworks desirable
- A demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and child safe practices
