The role
We are looking for a Theatre Technician to support productions and events at Pymble. Step behind the curtain and help bring the stage to life !
Our talented GMCPA Theatre team works tirelessly to ensure the smooth delivery of productions and events within the Gillian Moore Centre for Performing Arts. This state-of-the-art venue, with a 750-seat capacity, is the beating heart of our College and hosts a wide range of performances and events throughout the year. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Theatre Technician to join our passionate team.
Working closely with the Theatre Manager and the broader College community , the Theatre Technician will provide technical support across all events, ensuring the effective, safe and timely delivery of staging, lighting, sound and audiovisual requirements. With recent upgrades to our back-of-house technical infrastructure, this role offers the opportunity to work with best-in-class equipment while enjoying the variety and energy of a dynamic theatre environment where no two days are the same.
Please note this role will involve evening and weekend work during performances and productions, with an additional remuneration provided for these hours.

Our kind of team member
You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:
- Min 12 months experience and relevant qualifications in one of the following theatre disciplines: Lighting, Audio, AV or Staging
- Experience operating and maintaining staging elements or willingness to learn
- Experience with industry standard lighting consoles and/or operation and knowledge of audio digital consoles desirable
- Demonstrated team player able to work both collaboratively and independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships
- The ability to pivot and display a flexible approach to changing circumstances
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to undertake physical work
- General experience with power tools
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability and willingness to work flexible hours
- Intermediate Microsoft office suite experience
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and legislation in the context of a performance environment
- EWP licence, Working at Heights, Riggers Ticket or willingness to obtain
