Job Description

Pymble Ladies’ College is a school of the Uniting Church in Australia for girls Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding from Year 7. At Pymble, we foster a world-class educational environment with the importance of global citizenship and a worldwide perspective central to our strategic intent.

The role

Join our team of Learn to Swim Instructors and help children build confidence, learn vital water-safety skills, and develop abilities that last a lifetime. With more than 1,500 bookings every week, our program is expanding rapidly, and we’re looking for enthusiastic people to be a part of our team.

New to teaching? We’ll support you.

If you're not yet qualified, you can complete your Swim Australia or AUSTSWIM certification, and undertake your practical hours with us. Candidates are responsible for the costs associated and our experienced coaches will guide you through every step so you’re ready to begin in Term 1 next year.

Already qualified? Start now.

We also have immediate opportunities for instructors who already hold their certification. Our flexible shift options are perfect for university students or anyone seeking meaningful casual work:

 

  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Monday – Friday: 2:45 pm – 6:30 pm
  • Saturday: 7:45 am – 12:00 pm or 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Our kind of team member

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

  • Current Swim Australia Teacher or AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety certification, or willingness to undergo the training program.
  • Current Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics, or willingness to undergo the training, for instructors specific to our Preschool program.  
  • Current CPR qualifications, or willingness to obtain. 
  • Previous experience in aquatic education or the aquatic industry is desirable. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.

Our hourly rate for instructors start at $38.98 per hour, plus superannuation and loading. Penalties and overtime are paid where applicable. We also offer a range of other benefits, including:
